Bespoke Project: Burghley House

The most recent collaboration between Lucy and Charlotte was a beautiful reupholstered Chippendale Chair commission for Burghley House. The process began with a visit to Burghley House where Charlotte drew from the wildflower in the meadows surrounding the historic estate. The colours for the flowers were then selected to reflect the endangered Butterflies that keep each wildflower alive.

The print was then designed and printed onto the finest quality of Irish Linen which is created using Flax grown in the fields surrounding the fabric mill.

Lucy then took inspiration from the stunning historic textile collection in Burghley House and embellished the surface of the fabric with artisanal Goldwork, Silk Shading and Hand Beading embroidery techniques.
